SALISBURY, NH:  Pamela Monaghan, 53, of Salisbury, New Hampshire passed away on May 29, 2023 with her loving family by her side at Massachusetts General Hospital.  Pam was born on February 4, 1970 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Robert and Linda (Dupuis) Messenger. 

Pam grew up in Concord, New Hampshire and later moved to Newbury. She attended Kearsarge High School where she excelled in numerous sports and later went on to Keene State College where she graduated with a degree in sports medicine.

Pam and her husband Dennis first met in high school. Pam refused to vote for Dennis as class president unconvinced of the job he would do. She changed her tune years later when they worked together at Colby Sawyer in New London. Throughout their 30 years of marriage, Pam and Dennis were a team like no other. Always having fun together, they enjoyed target shooting ( she was definitely a better shot), vacationed at the Carolina beaches, went camping, and snowmobiling, or simply just hanging out together at home, cooking on their smoker. Having to deal with numerous health issues over the years, they drew strength from one another proving that love and laughter were always the best medicine. 

Pam always found so much love and happiness in life, especially with their beautiful daughter Jordan. Pam beamed with pride at every mention of Jordan’s name and loved nothing more than being a mother. Always her biggest cheerleader, Pam loved watching Jordan at her many sporting events throughout the years. Spending time together, whether they were making earrings, snowmobiling or camping, was always the perfect day in Pam’s eyes.  

After fighting a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis for 30 years, Pam received a double lung transplant in 2000. As a result of her transplant, Pam knew the benefits of massage therapy and became a massage therapist. She loved being part of the Salisbury community and was the library treasurer for years. Always thinking of others, Pam used her talent as a way to give back to so many. When times got rough, Pam always cracked a joke and fought harder. In 2013 Pam had a living donor kidney transplant thanks to the graciousness of her dear friend Vicky.  Always her own biggest, strongest and loudest advocate, feared by doctors and nursing staff alike, Pam kept them on their toes by questioning their every move. She radiated kindness wherever she went and forged countless friendships over her lifetime. Always the life of the party, she was up for anything and was always one you could count on. 

Pam’s impact on so many did not end with her death. She was a loving, devoted daughter, sister, wife and mother. Words cannot describe her selflessness or the presence she had when she walked into a room. Pam will be remembered by all who loved her for her sense of humor, quick wit, her laugh, resilience, strength and her amazing potato salad.

In addition to her parents, Pam is survived by her husband Dennis, their daughter Jordan, siblings Mickey Noyer of Newbury and Rob Messenger and his wife Christine of Sunapee, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and aunts and uncles.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, June 4th from 5 to 7 at Holt-Woodbury Funeral Homes, 32 School St, Hillsboro, NH.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 5th at 10:30 at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church in Henniker NH with a celebration of life to follow. Burial will be at 2:00 at the New Waterloo Cemetery on Route 103 in Warner.
