HILLSBORO, NH:  David Clayton Munroe, 81 years old, of Hillsboro, NH, peacefully passed away on May 29, 2023.

David was born on May 20, 1942 to Clayton Munroe and Eleanor Jordan in North Conway, NH. After graduating from Hillsboro-Deering High School in 1960, he went on serve in the Army from 1960 to 1963.

After serving in the Army, he went on to become a truck driver for ASA Sanel for almost 40 years. He was an avid softball player well into his 50s playing for many local men’s softball teams. He was a diehard Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics fan.  He loved Country Music and dancing. He was quick to make a joke, always lit up a room with his ability to make people laugh and feel at home. David loved Hillsboro and the many friends he had in it and was commonly known as “Mr. Magoo”. David was known and loved by so many.  He was always up to making everlasting memories. 

David was a loving and devoted father and friend. He always supported us all throughout the many accomplishments and difficulties of our lives. David leaves behind his son, David P. Munroe and his wife, Sheryl along with their children, Morgan, Jackson, Madison and Kyleigh of Hillsboro, NH, his daughter, Yvette Munroe of Merrimack, NH and her children, Brandon of Nashville, TN and Gavin, who is active duty in the Air Force, his son, Richard Munroe of Penacook, NH and his child, Erica of Concord, NH, and his daughter, Paula Coleman and her fiancé, Gerard Fowler of Allenstown, NH and her children, Nichole of Allenstown, NH, Brendan of Londonderry, NH, Zachary of Epsom, NH and Kasey of Concord, NH.  David is a great grandfather, or as his family and so many others called him “Grandpa Dave” to six great grandchildren.

There will be Celebration of Life at The Hillsboro Moose Lodge on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
