HENNIKER, NH: Robert John “Carrot” Anderson passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2022 at home in Henniker, NH, at the age of 63. He was born May 23, 1959 in Lakewood New Jersey, the son of the late John Anderson and Edythe Anderson.
He moved to Contoocook NH while in elementary school, and was a graduate of Hopkinton High School and attended Plymouth State College. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kathy Pluff Anderson of Henniker, NH, sister, Cyndee Anderson Gilman of Allenstown NH, brother-in-laws, Tracy Pluff of Henniker, NH and Jim Pluff of Hopkinton, NH. Carrot also had many friends, who he considered family.
Carrot had a terrific 35+ year career in the water well and geo thermal business, working for DG Foster Drilling, Capital Well, Contoocook Artesian Well, and for the last 28 years with Gilford Well. He was a member of the Lakes Region Home Builders Association, and enjoyed working with the builders and home owners to assure that he provided them with excellent service. More recently he wanted to work closer to home with less traveling, and was employed at Valley Excavating in Bradford, NH working with some lifelong friends.
Carrot was active in many sports in high school and college, and continued to play competitive men’s softball, soccer, and golf for many years. He and his wife were avid motorcyclists, and loved riding their ATVs and snowmobiling at their camp in the Great North Woods of NH. He was an officer for many years at the Contoocook Valley ATV Riders Club in Henniker, and a Club Director of NHOHVA.
Most friends and family will remember Carrot for his quick wit, sense of humor, and always being ready to lend a hand for friends.
A Celebration of Carrot's Life will be held Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 1 to 4 pm at Pat's Peak in Henniker, NH. The family requests casual dress.
