HILLSBORO, NH:  Gloria Mae Houghton Lugtig died peacefully in Pleasant View Nursing Home on October 6, 2020 at the age of 74.

Gloria was born April 25, 1946 in Concord NH to Mabel (Wheeler) Houghton and Virgil Houghton.

Gloria was a Dietary Aid for Hillsboro House Nursing home for 26 years; she ran the kitchen and she loved it. She did not view the people in nursing home as clients, she viewed them as her family. Gloria was a loving, caring mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and daughter. She grew an unbreakable bond with Gunner, the family dog. She viewed him as “her dog” and told everyone the same.

She is survived by especially her son, John Lugtig, daughter-in-law, Deb Wendt, and granddaughter, Kailie Lugtig.  Gloria had one son and one granddaughter who brought her infinite love and happiness. She had two step grandchildren, Brittnee Wendt and Ashley Wendt who she adored as well. She made it this far with the help of her entire family. Gloria will be remembered for her kind heart and her sharp attitude.
