CONTOOCOOK, NH:  Eleanor M. (Packhem) Pierce, 91, of Contoocook, NH died at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 15, 2017. 

Born May 28, 1925 in South Portland, Maine, she was the daughter of Nelson J. and Julia Kennard Packhem.  Ellie grew up in South Portland and was a 1943 graduate of South Portland High School. 

After high school, Ellie worked for the New England Telephone Company where she met her husband, Frederick A. Pierce.  Ellie and Fred built a house and started a family in Cape Elizabeth, Maine before being transferred to New Hampshire in 1965. 

Ellie was a fun-loving and happy person.  She enjoyed birding, traveling and spending time at her cottage in her beloved state of Maine.  Ellie was an avid sports fan who never missed a Red Sox broadcast.  She will be dearly missed by her family and circle of loving friends. 

Ellie was predeceased by her husband, Frederick A. Pierce, and her brothers, John K. Packhem and David N. Packhem. 

She is survived by her daughters and their spouses: Susan E. Pierce and Michael E. Huddleston of Interlaken, NJ and Leslie and James Beletic of Thousand Oaks, CA.

Ellie is also survived by her five granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

A private family burial will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
