HILLSBORO, NH: Elisa Grace Sterling Vega, 52, of Englewood, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in Hillsboro, New Hampshire.
Elisa was born July 21, 1964, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil to Walter Crooker Sterling, Jr. and Photine Eliopoulos Sterling. Elisa was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, as well as an excellent chef and avid entertainer. Elisa lived and traveled to many places in the world, which enhanced her exceptional culinary expertise in many cuisines. Elisa improved everything she touched and everyone who knew her. Elisa will always be remembered for her generosity, thoughtfulness, gregariousness and extreme beauty inside and out.
Elisa is survived by her loving husband, Paul Anthony Vega, and her only son, Victor James Vega, both of Englewood, Colorado, her father, Walter Crooker Sterling Jr., of Hillsboro, New Hampshire, her sister, Yara Athena Sterling Montminy of Glastonbury, Connecticut, her brother Walter Crooker Sterling III, of Leland, North Carolina, and aunts, uncles and cousins. Elisa is predeceased by her mother, Photine Eliopoulos Sterling, of Corinth, Greece.
A graduate of York High School, in York, Maine, Elisa subsequently received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the University of Maine. Beginning her professional life at the Travelers Insurance Company as a licensed Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent, Elisa worked her way to the position of Vice President at the Principal Financial Corporation. Eventually leaving the insurance business to pursue her passion, Elisa received a degree from the New England Culinary Institute with a specialty in Asian Fusion Cuisine in Maui, Hawaii. She continued her career as Vice President of DotCom Wines, in Connecticut and then started her family with Paul.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 6-8 pm in the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home located at 32 School Street, Hillsboro, New Hampshire.
Funeral services will be held at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church located at 68 North State Street, Concord, New Hampshire on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 11 am.
Burial will follow at Maple Avenue Cemetery in Hillsboro, New Hampshire.
